The sex photos scandal that has rocked Hong Kong showbiz and publicly embarrassed entertainers, including Edison Chen (陳冠希), Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), Bobo Chan (陳文媛) and Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝), showed no signs of abating today, as more photos leaked onto the internet.
Netizens reported dozens of new sex photos of a woman, purported to be Bobo, and a man, purported to be Edison, surfacing online this afternoon.
Bobo was one of the first celebrities to be implicated by the scandal, when photos allegedly of her giving Edison oral sex started circulating on the web a fortnight ago.
Hong Kong newspapers have rumoured for days that Bobo's planned wedding to wealthy boyfriend Philip Jin (金紫耀) had been cancelled at the behest of his mother.
Earlier in the day, new photos purportedly of Gillian, Cecilia and Edison's current girlfriend Vincy Yeung (楊永晴) were leaked.
Police have not held a press briefing since the Chinese New Year holiday began. Police have so far arrested eight people in connection with the spread of photos, but this has not halted new images being leaked onto the web throughout the holiday period.
Netizens have rumoured that an internet user with the online alias "Kira" is the source of the leaks.
Kira was quoted by netizens as writing with a leak of photos two days ago that he will be releasing an Edison and Gillian sex tape shortly: "video will coming out soon... 32 mins video of E & G".
Kira seemed to be playing a game of catch me if you can with Hong Kong police. He was quoted as writing: "I am not in hk, so i dun give a sh*t".
